Evelyn Ross Thompson

October 27, 1932 - March 22, 2018

Evelyn Ross Thompson , 85, a resident of Verona, KY, passed away Thursday March 22, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center – Grant Hospice Unit. Born October 27, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Jess & Lula Florence West Ross. She was a baker for General Motors for many years, where she worked in food service. She loved quilting and cooking for her loving family of 12 children. She was a member of the Buford Highway Baptist Church in Norcross, GA.

On February 17, 1949 Evelyn was united in marriage to Marion Thompson. He preceded her in death in 1987.

Survivors include three sons : Bill (Sandy) Thompson of Douglasville, GA, Dennis (Rosalyn) Thompson of Loganville, GA, Calvin Thompson of Gainsville, GA; eight daughters : Pat (Dave) Webster of Dry Ridge, KY, Cathy (Paul) Mullins of Verona, KY, Jesse (Mark) Stone of Union, KY, Reba (Mike) Ewing of Horseshoe Beach, FL, Judy (Freddie) Rice of Blue Ridge, GA, Mary Jo (Billy Jo) Rice of Blue Ridge, GA, Sharon Waits of Verona, KY and Tracy (Gerritt) Nimmer of Bluffton, S.C. Twenty-five grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren also survive, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Evelyn was preceded in death by a son: James Thompson and all 10 of her siblings.

Visitation will be Monday March 26 from 11 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at Williamstown United Methodist Church, located at 206 Paris Street Williamstown, KY 41097. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 with the Rev. Barry Robinson officiating

Burial will be in the North Atlanta Memorial Park in Atlanta, GA at a date and time to be determined by the family.
