Rev. Charles Boyd Courtney

October 12, 1932 - March 5, 2018

Rev. Charles Boyd Courtney was born October 12, 1932 in Scott Co., Kentucky and passed away March 5, 2018 in Crittenden, Kentucky at the age of 85.  He was the son of the late Boyd and Ruby Haley Courtney.

Charles was the pastor at Potter's House in Crittenden.  He was also a retired Supervisor for Security for Loreal USA.  He loved working with his hands and especially woodworking.

Charles was an Army veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Walton-Verona High School.

On Feb. 19, 1998 he was united in marriage to his wife Linda Jane Tracy Courtney.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 sons: Dr. Michael Courtney (Doris) of Tennessee, John Courtney of Crittenden, Eddy Courtney of Crittenden and Rudy Courtney of Crittenden; 2 daughters: Chonda Pierce of Tennessee and Samantha Courtney Davis of Tennessee; 1 brother: Jerry Courtney of Dry Ridge; 2 sisters: Peggy Ammon of Burlington and Diane McNeely of Burlington; 4 grandchildren: Josh (Jennifer) Courtney, Jacob Courtney, Cherykay, and Zachary Pierce; 4 great grandchildren; 1 adopted daughter: Crystal Whitworth (Ricky) of Crittenden; 7 adopted grandchildren: Vadelity Whitworth, Madison Whitworth, Keagan Whitworth, Creighton Whitworth, Everleigh Whitworth, Addylyne Whitworth and Jennavecia Whitworth; and a special friend: Dewey "Junior" Oaks of Crittenden.

He was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Charlotta Courtney and Cherlyn Courtney; and 2 brothers: Richard Courtney and Ben Courtney.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Potter's House in Crittenden.  Visitation will be 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM Sunday at the church.  Burial with military honors will be 10:00 AM Monday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, North in Williamstown.  Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY is handling the arrangements.
