Larry Skinner

August 1, 1940 - March 1, 2018

Larry Lester Skinner was born Aug. 1, 1940 in East Lynn, IL and passed away Mar. 1, 2018 at the age of 77.  He was the son of the late Walter Emerson and Anna Frances Fink Skinner.

Larry was a retired heat treat furnace operator of General Electric for over 41 years.  He was a member of the Concord Pentecostal Church in Gallatin Co. He was also a member of the NRA, UAW Local and the Trappers Association.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed farming, metal detecting and coin collecting.

He is survived by 2 sons: Dennis Skinner (Dodie) of Paxton, IL and Darren Skinner (Stephanie) of Milford, OH; 2 daughters: Shannon Rains (Vernon) of Beattyville, KY and Cassie Skinner of of Warsaw, KY; 1 brother: George Skinner of Danville, IL; several grandchildren; and ex-wives: Brenda Rice and Evelyn Coyle.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Wilson Skinner; 3 brothers: Don Skinner, Jesse Skinner and Wayne Skinner; and 4 sisters: Mary Brown, Dorothy Kunkel, Faye Compton and Shirley Lemley.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.  Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Napoleon Cemetery.
