James Gordon Wagers

November 1, 1921 - February 10, 2018

James Gordon Wagers, 96, a resident of Lebanon, OH, formerly of Williamstown, KY, passed away Saturday February 10, 2018 at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, OH. He was born November 1, 1921 in Akron, OH, son of the late Leonard Cleveland and Lillian Bess Nicholson Wagers. James worked with General Motors for 36 years. He was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church.

On September 30, 1950 James was united in marriage to the former Laura Frances Marquette in Cynthiana, KY; she survives. In addition to his wife, James is survived by a daughter: Nancy (Richard) Howell of Springboro, OH; two sons: Leonard (Ann) Wagers of West Chester, OH, and Mike (Gail) Wagers of Wheaton, IL. Eight grandchildren also survive: Andy Wagers, Kelly Fogwell, Joseph Wagers, Daniel Wagers, Lucas Wagers, Samuel Wagers, Emily Fields and Ericka Masters; along with 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Juanita Wagers.

Visitation will be Wednesday February 14, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Elliston - Stanley Funeral Homes, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 at the funeral home with James’ son, Rev. Leonard Wagers officiating.   Interment will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
