Mrs. Norma Hurt of Williamstown, KY. passed away Friday, February 2 at home at the age of 74. Mrs. Hurt was born April 14, 1943 in Stillwater, Minnesota to the late Herbert W. Tuenge and June Katherine Bahneman Tuenge. Mrs. Hurt was a retired waitress and worked for many years at the Red Carpet Restaurant in Williamstown. She had also formerly worked as a waitress for Covington Chili and Frisch's. She had formerly worked for the Schwann's Company in Florence and years ago had served as treasurer in the FOP Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and is fondly remembered by her family as being a "Granny" to everyone.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hurt was preceded in death by 2 sons: Daniel Michael Gieske on June 18, 1985 and Jay Robert Gieske on June 18, 1998.
Mrs. Hurt is survived by her husband: James A. Hurt, a daughter: Tammy Lynn Abshear of Williamstown, KY., a son: Scott Allen Gieske and his wife Barbara of Florence, KY., a stepdaughter: Melissa Ann Alexander and her husband Michael of Nashville, TN., a stepson: Corbett Hurt and his wife Karen of Williamsburg, KY., sisters: Darlene Lilijdahl of Minnesota, Sheryl Tuenge of Richmond, Wisconsin, brothers: Gary "Butch" Tuenge of Richmond, Wisconsin, Greg Tuenge of Stillwater, Minnesota. Mrs. Hurt has 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norma Hurt will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 6 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, with Pastor Michael Williams officiating. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, February 6 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
