Mrs. Willa Mae Wright of Crittenden, KY. passed away Saturday, January 20 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. at the age of 78. Mrs. Wright was born December 20, 1939 in Pendleton County, KY. to the late Charles and Opal Cruey Chambers. Mrs. Wright was a retired administrative assistant and worked for various agencies during her career. Among those she worked for were the Department of Agriculture, The Department of the Army, The Internal Revenue Service, and Housing and Urban Development. At the time of her passing she was a member of the Crittenden Baptist Church and she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed sewing and is most fondly remembered for her always putting the interests of others first.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wright was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul W. Alexander.
Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband of 60 years, Clinton Wright, whom she married on December 27, 1957. Mrs. Wright is also survived by a son: Anthony G. Wright and his wife Phyllis of Crittenden, KY., 3 daughters: Doris Alexander of Vevay, IN., Rita Jones and her husband Chip of Falmouth, KY., Teresa Mehler of Burlington, KY., a brother: Ronald D. Chambers of Morning View, KY., 2 sisters: Sandra K. Palmer of Crittenden, KY., Cheryl Ann Sheriff of Mt. Zion, KY. Mrs. Wright has 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Willa Mae Wright will be conducted 12:30 pm Thursday, January 25 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Jeff Colon officiating. Visitation will be there on Thursday from 10:00 am - 12:30 pm. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
