Dorothy Neal Cummins

Dorothy N. Cummins , 96, a resident of Florence, KY, passed away Monday December 25, 2017 at Rockcastle Respiratory Care Center in Mt. Vernon, KY. Born May 18, 1921 in Mt. Sterling, KY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Pearl Martin Neal.

In 1941, in Indianapolis, IN she married Stanley Cummins; he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and up until the past 2 years, Dorothy traveled and toured with her son, Ray in his Guitar Band. She was a member of the Newport Nazarene Church.

Survivors include one daughter:Carol Sumpter of Jacksonville, FL; one son: Ray Cummins of Florence, KY and one brother: Bernard Neal of Cold Springs, KY. Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Preceded in death are two brothers: James Neal and Alfred Neal, along with one sister: Flossie Johnson.

Visitation will be Tuesday January 2, 2018 from 12 Noon to 1:00 at Linnemann’s Funeral Home at 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Jim Hale officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery at 25 Alexandria Pike Southgate, KY 41071.
