Norma Lois Lusby , 81, passed away Saturday December 16, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, KY. She was born September 25, 1936 in Williamstown, Kentucky, daughter of the late June Gayle and Ethel Catherine (Osborne) Lusby.
Norma was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY and Saginaw Valley University in University Center, MI. She was a school teacher for 40 years. The first three years of teaching she taught in Dry Ridge, KY; for 37 years she taught in McKinley Elementary School in Warren, MI. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ in Williamstown where she sang in the church choir. She also held memberships in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Williamstown Women’s Club and Grant Co. Historical Society, where she served as treasurer.
Ms. Lusby is survived by a brother: Delbert Lusby of Williamstown, KY; two nephews: Barry Lusby of Annapolis, MD, David Sweeny of Phenix City, AL, four nieces: Jenna Lusby of Williamstown, Lynn Pratt of Cincinnati, OH, Sandy Gaddy of Largo, FL and Jackie Atkins of Phenix City, AL. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Sweeny and a brother, Hubert Lusby.
Visitation will be Wednesday December 20, 2017 from 4:00 - 7:00 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes, Williamstown. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday December 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Lynn White officiating. Burial will follow in Williamstown Cemetery.
