Ray Spegal

October 4, 1932 - December 3, 2017

Charles ‘Ray” Spegal , 85,  widower of Jennetta Fay Armstrong Spegal, passed away Sunday December 3, 2017 at his residence. Born in Pendelton County on October  4, 1932 to Herbert and Laverne Dahms Spegal.

A member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church; he retired as a farmer and an employee of Square D; he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by a daughter, Paula Spegal of Dry Ridge, KY, a son, James Spegal of Dry Ridge, one  sister, Shirley Rhoton (Jack) of Dry Ridge and a great-granddaughter, Maleia Clem. In addition to his wife and parents, Ray was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Richardson and Ella Jean Dowell, a grandson, Brandon Spegal and a granddaughter, Stacey Spegal.

Visitation will be Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 4:30 – 8:00 at McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge. Visitation will continue Thursday morning December 7 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church from 10:00 – 11:00. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 with interment to follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Marksberry officiating.
