William Howard Mohon

March 27, 1937 - November 14, 2017

William Howard Mohon , 80, passed away Tuesday November  14, 2017 at his residence in Louisville, KY. He was born March 27, 1937 in Washington, D.C. to the late William Virgil and Mary Ellen McElwain Mohon.  He was united in marriage on February 25, 1961 to the former Lita Purvis; she preceded him in death on September 17, 2014. Bill retired in 1997, after 36 years of service, from Rohm and Haas Chemical in Louisville, where he served as a warehouse supervisor.

Bill graduated from Male High School in Louisville and attended Western University and the University of Louisville. He served in the National Guard for 16 years. He and his wife (during their active years) were intensely involved in the work and ministries of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Lisa (Walter) Kaelin of Shepherdsville, KY, a brother, Neil Mohon of Tampa, FL and a step-son, Kevin Jenkins of Louisvillle, KY, along with 3 grandchildren: Walter "Beau" Kaelin, Jr., Daniel Kaelin and John Kaelin.  Bill was preceded in death by a son, Steve Mohon.

A memorial service will be conducted Monday November 20, 2017 at 3:00; visitation will begin at 2:00 in the South Chapel of Stanley Funeral Homes, Williamstown location. Interment of ashes will follow at Williamstown Cemetery.
