George Edgar Salyers

September 17, 1931 - November 8, 2017

George Edgar Salyers , 86, husband of Norma Jean Bryant Salyers, passed away Wednesday November 8, 2017 at his residence in Walton.  Born in Perry Co, he was the son of the late Allen & Pearly Collins Salyers.

By profession, he was a millwright, working primarily in Cincinnati and northern KY. He had a particular love for gardening, and canning. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge in the Cincinnati area and was a member of the Free Pentecostal Church of God in Verona.

In addition to his wife of 66 years (married in Indiana on February 17, 1951), he is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Gene) Hughes of Walton and one granddaughter, Mikala Hughes.

Visitation will be Sunday November 12, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona; the funeral service will begin at 1:00 with the Rev. Claude Ely officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
