Larry Mitchell Carr

October 15, 1949 - August 4, 2017

Mr. Larry Mitchell Carr of the New Columbus community of Owen County, KY. passed away Friday, August 4 at home at the age of 67.  Larry was born October 15, 1949 in Harrodsburg, KY. to the late Lynn Mitchell Carr and Margaret Prewitt Carr.  Larry, along with his late father and his son, own and operate the Carr Realty and Auction Co.  Larry worked in the real estate and auction business for 50 plus years.  He received his sales license in 1978 and his broker license in 1980.  When not working in real estate and auctions Larry enjoyed working on his family farm that is now in it's fourth generation of Carr ownership.  Larry enjoyed all things outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a brother: Marty Carr and by a sister: Lynette Carr Starlin.

Larry is survived by his wife: Diane Milner Carr, a son: Larry Lynn Carr and his wife Shelia of Corinth, KY., a daughter: Leann Brumley and her husband Billy of Corinth, KY., 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.

The celebration of Larry's life with a meal following will be Thursday, August 10 at 7:30 pm at the Carr Farm barn, across the road from 1070 Carr Lane, Corinth, (Owen Co.), KY.  There will be a time of visitation and remembrance starting at 3:00 pm until the meal at 7:30.  The family asks that friends dress casual and bring a covered dish.
