Mary Mae Merida

May 11, 1942 - July 30, 2017

Mary Mae Merida, 75, a resident of Verona, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 30, 2017. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and friends. She passed away at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood.

She was born in Somerset, KY to  Earl and Treva Thompson Tinch; they precede her in death. She was united in marriage to Bobby G. Merida on January 7, 1960 in Boone County; he survives. She was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Mamaw Ginny". Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Chris Hamilton of Verona; two sons, David Merida of Verona and Robert Merida of Glencoe along with eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Lee Tinch and Leamon Tinch.

Mary was a member of the Sherman Full Gospel Church.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, August 7, 2017 at New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY.
