Olema Purvis

January 25, 1924 - July 17, 2017

Olema Purvis was born on January 25, 1924 in Williamstown, KY and died July 17, 2017 in Louisville, KY at the age of 93. She was the daughter of the late Cleo and Lily Bohanon Purvis.

Olema was the third of four daughters and worked as a sales clerk at Taylor Trunk leather store.

She survived a bout of Typhoid fever that took the life of her sister Aurelia in the 1930’s. Even though she was always busy with her job, her friends, and caring for her mother, she always managed to find the time to do fun things with her nieces and nephews.

Miss Purvis is survived by her sister, Juanita Shacklett of Davis, CA; her brother-inlaw, William Mohon of Louisville, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Olema will be 2:00 PM, Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Elliston Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 PM on Monday as well at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
