Marvin Blaine West

March 26, 1926 - June 9, 2017

Marvin Blaine West was born March 26, 1926 in Williamstown, Kentucky and passed away June 9, 2017 in Edgewood, Kentucky at the age of 91.  He was the son of the late Floyd Blaine and Eva Belle Wallace West.

Marvin was a retired Shipping Supervisor with Phillips Driscopipe in Williamstown and was a former mail carrier.  He was a lifelong farmer.

Marvin was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Williamstown, an Army veteran of WWII and a Kentucky Colonel.

On Jan. 8, 1945, Marvin was united in marriage to Ruth Evelyn Adams West.  In addition to his wife of 72 years, he is survived by 3 sons: Marvin Gayle West (Darlene) of Williamstown, Billy Ray West (Marilyn) of Shelbyville and Edward Lynn West (Diane) of Williamstown; a daughter: Rita Carol Bishop (Mark) of Williamstown; a sister: Reva Mi Jean Hendrix (Bob) of Williamstown; and 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Marion Leroy West and Richard Leon West.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
