Marie Simpson

January 23, 1942 - June 9, 2017

Mrs. Marie Simpson of Florence, KY. passed away Friday, June 9 at her residence at the age of 75.  Mrs. Simpson was born January 23, 1942 in Harlan County, KY. to the late William Patton Ward and Cleo Johnson Ward.  Mrs. Simpson worked as a housekeeper for Holiday Inn.  Mrs. Simpson was a member of Locust Pike Pentecostal Church of God in Taylor Mill, KY.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by a sister: Hannah Rucker and by brothers: Buddy Williams, Ted Drew, Jr. and Eddie Marlow.

Survived by her husband Jack Simpson, Marie is also survived by 2 sons: Richard Simpson of Crittenden, KY. and Jason Lee Simpson of Florence, KY., 3 daughters: Lila Annis of Dry Ridge, KY., Lee Simpson of Union, KY. and Shelia Denlinger of Florence, KY., 2 brothers: Harrison Ward of Dry Ridge, KY and Martin Ward of Cincinnati, OH., 2 sisters: Laura Baker of Georgia and Linda Wallzs of Cincinnati, OH.  She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Simpson will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 13 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, with Rev. Paul Long officiating.  Visitation will be there on Tuesday, June 13 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Williamstown Cemetery.
