Opal Lea Craft Paul Courtney was born Aug. 2, 1930 in Harlan, Kentucky and passed away May 9, 2017 in Williamstown, Kentucky at the age of 86.  She was the daughter of the late Willie and Martha Walker Craft.

Opal was a retired LPN with VA Medical Center in Ft. Thomas.  She also served as a nurse at other Northern Kentucky Hospitals.

She was a dedicated member of Revive Church in Dry Ridge.  She was an avid Quilter and also enjoyed painting.

Opal is survived by 2 sons: Jamie Fields (Sandy) of Dry Ridge and David Fields of Atlanta, GA; a brother: Bud Craft of Walton; 3 sisters: Faye Young, Sonnie Charles and Fran Knox all of Jacksonville, FL; and 16 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Richard Courtney; a son: Barry Fields; 2 brothers: Eugene Craft and Clarence Craft; and a Sister: Meg Diddler.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Visitation will be 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
