Berry Newton "Sonny" Wilson, Jr., a Dry Ridge resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Williamstown at the age of 81.  He was the husband of Shirley Cook Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was the owner of Sonny Wilson Realty and Auction Co.  A member of the Lawrenceville Baptist Church, he was a former Pendleton Co. Fair Board Member, 4H fair judge and Methodist Minister.  He also was a lifelong farmer, a coach for church softball leagues and past president of the Pendleton & Grant Co. Fox Hunters Association.  His passions included U.K. Basketball and pitching horseshoes.

On Jan. 4, 1936, Sonny was born to the late Berry and Clematina Hill Wilson.  On Oct. 27, 1991, Sonny was united in marriage to Shirley Cook Wilson.  In addition to Shirley, Sonny is survived by 3 sons, Barry J. Wilson of Butler,  KY, Trent B. Wilson of Highland Hts, KY, Charles "Danny" DeZarn (Rhonda) of Dry Ridge, KY, 3 daughters, Tina Ginn (Tom) of Burlington, KY, Robin McGee of Dry Ridge, KY, Sharla A. Lake of Williamstown, KY, one sister Lavina "Bonnie" Kavanaugh of Falmouth, KY, 10 grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) T. Ginn, Ashley (Chad) K. Setser, Ashton McGee, Amanda Canada, Christian B. McGee, Alexia H. DeZarn, Dylan J. Lake, Caleb D. DeZarn, Alyssa N. Lake, Hailey A. Lake, 8 great grandchildren,  Kamryn P. Boyd, Mikah A. Boyd, Adam T. Ginn, Grayson T. Ginn, Sophia K. Setser, Kennedy M. Ginn, Reagan H. Setser, and Ah'Kyla U. Canada.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Jana Kaye Wilson, two brothers: Herbert Wilson, Holton Wilson, and 5 sisters: Edna Koch, Marcella Kelly, Wanda Harper, Ruby Bentle, Sue Ellen Browning.

Visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2017 from 10am-12noon at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral services will be at 12 noon.  Burial will follow in the Mason cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Lawrenceville Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
