James A. Middleton

November 5, 1932 - March 27, 2017

James A. "Jim" Middleton was born on Russell-Flynn Road in Crittenden on November 5, 1932 and passed away at his residence in Dry Ridge on March 27, 2017 at the age of 84.  He was the son of the late Fred and Shirley Works Middleton.

Jim is survived by his wife, Wanda Clemons Middleton, several nieces and nephews and 2 step grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Leggett Middleton who passed away in 1998 and his brothers: John Middleton, Randall Middleton, Clay Middleton, Howard Middleton and Donald "Tom" Middleton.

Mr. Middleton was active in many community endeavors including: a member and former Elder of the Dry Ridge Christian Church, the Dry Ridge City Council, the Dry Ridge Masonic Lodge, the Grant County Library Board, and the Eagle Creek Country Club.  He served with Meals on Wheels and once made a Hole in One while playing golf.  He retired from the A. T. & T. Company where he was a regional supervisor.  He had been a Rural Mail Carrier earlier in life and really enjoyed farming.  A veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army, he also regularly attended the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Eckler - McDaniel Funeral Home, 30 S. Main St., Dry Ridge, KY 41035.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.  Memorials are suggested to the Gideons International.
