Joseph Donald Sullivan was born on March 12, 1926 in Lexington, Kentucky and passed away on June 1, 2012 in Williamstown, Kentucky at the age of 86. He was the son of the late Ruby Campbell and Dennis Leonidas "Buster" Sullivan.
Donald was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the Kentucky Highway Departmentand a Sheep and Lamb Farmer. He was a Kentucky Colonel. Donald served his country in the United States Army in Asian-Pacific Theatre during World War II earning a Bronze Star.
On August 20, 1947, he was united in marriage to Ruth Eileen Redman. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by 2 sons: Dennis Ray Sullivan of Williamstown and Pat Sullivan of Burlington; 2 daughters: Barbara Griffith of Jackson and Kathy Walters of Dry Ridge; 2 sisters: Marcella Gausling of Hot Springs, AR and Loretta Harrison of Williamstown; 13 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 4, at 10 AM at St. Williams Catholic Church in Williamstown. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 PM at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Burial will be in Williamstown Cemetery.
