Velma Blanche Cummins

May 26, 1924 - May 22, 2012

Velma Blanche Fortner Cummins, 87 of Dry Ridge passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the St. Elizabeth-Grant County Hospital.

She owned and operated Blanche''s Beauty Salon in Dry Ridge for over 10 years and was a beautician for Inez Valentine''s Beauty Shop in Williamstown for over 20 years. She was a member of the Sherman Church of Christ in Dry Ridge, Eastern Star and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of sixty years, Kenneth E. Cummins, Sr.; three daughters, Joyce Haubner of Dry Ridge, Janet Cummins Lee and Lisa Cummins both of Cincinnati; a son, Kenneth E. Cummins, Jr. of Dry Ridge; two brothers, George Fortner of Southern Pines, NC, John Henry Fortner of Mt. Carmel, OH; two sisters, Wanda Carr of Latonia, Garnett Hall of Louisiana; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-8pm, Thursday with funeral service at 10:30am on Friday, May 25 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main St., Williamstown, KY 41097. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-North, Williamstown, KY.
