Rev David E Hocker

March 17, 1934 - February 19, 2012

Rev. David E. Hocker, 77, of Verona passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at his residence.

He was the founding pastor of Verona''s First Full Gospel Church of God, but was currently a member of the Community Family Church. He was also a truck driver for Modern Motors of Cincinnati, OH where he was a member of the Teamsters Local Union #100.

He was a son of the late Richard P. and Tilda Jane Gumm Hocker. Survivors include his wife of over sixty years, Berniece "Janie" Brockman Hocker; a son, David Lee (Carla) Hocker of Florence; three daughters, Donna J. (Jim) Baker of Florence, P. Darlene (Lanny) Dixon of Verona, Debbie F. (J.R.) Wood of Walton; a brother, Rev. Marvin D. (Nona) Hocker of Camden, OH; a sister, Josephine (Randall) Robinson of Verona; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5pm-9pm, Tues., February 21 and after 12 pm (noon), Wed., February 22 with funeral service at 1:00 pm, Wed. all at the Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Road, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY. Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, is serving the family.
