He retired as a heavy equipment operator with Dudley Construction Company; then he worked as a crank operatorfor Kemper Brothers in Ghent, KY. Mr. Ballance was a member of the Pleasant Home Baptist Church and was proceded in death by his first wife, Mary Cecil Smallwood Ballance and his second wife, Maxine Martin Ballance.

Survivors include a son, Herschel Cecil Ballance of Glencoe; a grandson, Brandon Scott Ballance of Ghent and many good friends.

Services for Mr. Ballance are private for the family.
