Emmett Overton Holbrook

August 5, 1922 - June 8, 2016

Mr. Emmett O. Holbrook passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the age of 93. He was the husband of Ruth McKinney Holbrook.

Mr. Holbrook was preceded in death by his son Keith Holbrook. In addition to his wife Ruth, Mr. Holbrook is survived by two sons, Kevin E. Holbrook (Rebecca) of Burlington, KY, David S. Holbrook of Ft. Mitchell, KY, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Holbrook was a retired Social Director for the Covington Housing Authority. He was a former Air Force pilot, having flown close to 50 missions in World War II. He was a member of the Ft. Mitchell Baptist Church for 56 years. He loved UK Basketball and football, Cincinnati Reds, and had a passion for gardening. He will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Graveside services will be held at the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11am, with the funeral procession leaving the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home parking lot, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030 at 10:45am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to the Ft. Mitchell Baptist Church, c/o Holbrook flag memorial fund, 2323 Dixie Hwy, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
