William Derringer Locke

February 5, 1923 - April 20, 2016

William "Bill" Locke was born February 5, 1923 in Ludlow, Kentucky and passed away April 20, 2016 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 93. He was the son of the late John Derringer and Alpha Mae Eckler Locke. On March 30, 1950 he was united in marriage to Elsie Theora Peebles Locke who preceded him death on February 6, 2012 after more than 61 years of marriage.

Bill was a retired General Carpenter Foreman for Turner Construction. He was a faithful member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona, KY where he formerly served as a trustee. He was also a member of the Ohio Carpenter's Union Local #2 (formerly #698) and was a 60 year member of the Walton-Verona Lodge #719 F & AM.

Bill is survived by multiple generations of nieces and nephews; and many friends and associates.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2016 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona with Rev. George Naylor officiating. Visitation will also be Monday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona.
