Carl Lewis Leek

September 27, 1935 - December 7, 2016

Carl Lewis Leek was born Sept. 27, 1935 in Verona, Kentucky and passed away on Dec. 7, 2016 in Verona, Kentucky at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Nub Leek and Mary Blanch Johnson Leek Farrell. Carl was married to Linda Sue Leek who preceded him in death in 1993.

Carl was a retired truck mechanic having worked for Rocket Transport/Emery Worldwide. After retirement he worked as a mechanic for Gleason Trucking and worked for Newman Tractor in Verona for 10+ years. He was a former member of the Teamsters Local 100. Carl loved spending his free time at Lake Cumberland and always loved camping.

Carl is survived by a son: Clifford Thomas Leek and his fiance, Mary Marthaler of Verona; a sister: Alice Lustenburg of Verona; two grandchildren: Zach Marthaler of Campbell Co. and Brandi Marthaler of Verona; and two great grandchildren: Maddie Bailey and Macie Marthaler both of Florence.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Barry Leek; two brother: Tommy and Walter Leek; and a sister: Shirley Ryle.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton-Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092. Visitation will be 11 AM - 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Bethel Cemetery.
