Lowell Douglas Thomas

January 12, 1931 - September 23, 2016

Lowell Thomas, a Dry Ridge resident, was born to the late Miles Thomas and Alma Callison Thomas on January 12, 1931. Mr. Thomas passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Elmcroft Assisted Living Center in Florence at the age of 85. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth Prince Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was a retired assembler for Dover Corporation in Cincinnati, OH after 30+ years. He was a member of the Elliston Baptist Church, and was an U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Mr. Thomas loved his family and grandchildren dearly and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife Mary, Mr. Thomas is survived by four sons, David Thomas (Darlene) of Mt. Washington, KY, Greg Thomas (Terri) of Falmouth, KY, Mark Thomas (Robin) of Dry Ridge, KY, Bryan Thomas (Candace) of Glencoe, KY, three daughters, Christine Bryant (Greg) of Williamstown, Judy Smith (Daryl) of Owenton, KY, Janet McKee (Harold) of Dry Ridge, KY, one sister, Linda Rice of Dwale, KY, fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Thomas will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 11am-1230pm at the Elliston Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden, KY. Funeral services will follow at 1230pm. Burial with military honors will be at the KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
