James Edward Benton Jr

October 23, 1942 - March 20, 2016

James Edward Benton, Jr. of Crittenden, KY was born October 23, 1942 in Hazard, KY and died March 20, 2016 in Crittenden, KY at the age of 73.

He was the son of the late Willie Clay and Eloria Spencer Benton, he was a US Army and US Navy Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and a retired floor cleaner for Floor Tech. Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Annette Burroughs Benton.

Surviving are 2 sons Edward Allen Propes and Roger Propes, brothers: Thomas Benton of Lexington, David Benton of Leslie County and Steven Benton of Leslie County; sisters: Brenda Willoughby of Mt. Sterling, Sharon Lewis of Washington, DC, Kathy Morgan of Clarksburg, WV and Betty Faye Benton of Hazard; 17 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1:00pm Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
