David B Mason

August 22, 1941 - March 3, 2016

David B. Mason, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood at the age of 74. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years whom he cherished and loved every day,Janice Morgan Mason.

Mr. Mason was a former guidance counselor with over 42 years in education for Walton-Verona Schools, Boone County Schools, and Gulf View Schools of Naples, FL. He loved gardening, cooking, baking, canning, stained glass makingand playing Rook. He loved UK basketball and basket weaving with over 5,000 baskets produced. He was widely known as Poppy and is well known for his kind heart which was clearly evidentin his love for his family, children, grandchildrenand his church family at Williamstown Baptist Church.

Mr. Mason is survived by two sons, Michael D. Mason (Grace) of Florence, KYand Marc T. Mason (Karmen) of Dry Ridge, KY, one sister, JoAnn Clifton of Owenton, KY and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 1PM to 3PMat the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY. Funeral services will follow at 3PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Crittenden Cemetery in Crittenden, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Janice Mason Scholarship Fund .
