Clara Herald

July 17, 1937 - February 16, 2016

Clara Strong Herald, resident of the Napoleon Community, was born in Jackson, Kentucky in Breathitt County on July 17, 1937 and passed away at the Providence Gallatin Health Care in Warsaw, Kentucky in Gallatin County on February 16, 2016 at the age of 78. She was the daughter of the late Fitch and Margret Cole Strong.

Mrs. Herald was united in marriage with Mose R Herald on May 15, 1959. In addition to her loving husband of 56 years, she is survived by her daughter: Grace Margret Raleigh and her husband, Cale, of Verona; sons: Kenneth Marvin Herald of Verona and Glen Marlin Herald of Verona; grandchildren: Christopher Mose Raleigh and Cayla Lynn Raleigh; brothers: James Edward Strong of Berry and Harold Strong of Newport; sisters: Sarah Strong of Breathitt County and Carol Watts of Breathitt County. Two brothers, Farish Strong and George Elbert Strong and one sister, Zola Mae Strong preceded Clara in death.

Among Mrs. Herald's many interests were crocheting, completeing puzzle books and all types of crafts. She really loved going to church and singing gospel hymns. And everyone knew about her love for family because she loved talking to them and about them.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, 14635 Walton - Verona Rd., Verona, KY 41092 under the direction of Bro. Jessie Hall, Jr. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, February 18 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Verona, KY 41092.
