Janie Berniece Brockman Hocker

January 11, 1934 - February 12, 2016

Mrs. Janie Berniece Brockman Hocker, a Verona resident, passed away at her residence on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 yrs, David E. Hocker.

Mrs. Hocker was a former custodian for Owens Illinois and a former packer for Kenner Toy Company. She was a dedicated and faithful member of the Community Family Church in Independence, KY and she assisted her husband in the founding of Verona's First Full Gospel Church of God.

Mrs. Hocker is survived by her son, David L. Hocker (Carla) of Florence, KY, three daughters, Donna J. Baker (Jim) of Florence, P. Darlene Dixon (Lanny) of Verona, Debbie F. Wood (J.R.) of Florence, two sisters, Margie Madden of Trezevandt, TN, Loretta Fee of Orlando, FL, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 from 4 to 8pm at the Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051. Funeral services will be Tuesdayat 11am at the Community Family Church. Burial will follow at the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Community Family Church Building Fund, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051.
