RD Edwards

January 22, 1928 - December 27, 2016

R. D. Edwards of Cynthiana, KY was born on January 22, 1928 in Harrison Co., KY and died at Mayfair Manor in Lexington on December 27th at the age of 88. He was the widower of Odella Dunn Edwards, who was always the love of his life. He was the son of the late Luther & Mary Elizabeth Herron Edwards.

R. D. retired as a Track Worker for Norfolk Southern Railway after 25 years of service and was a local farmer. He is survived by a sister: Anne Wolfe of Cynthiana and a step-son: Gayle (Connie) Osborne of Newburgh, IN. In addition to his wife and parents, R.D. was preceded in death by a daughter: Deborah SueEdwards, a step-son: Rodney Osborne, a brother: Raymond Edwards, two sisters: Ona Jenkins & Sylvia Jenkins.

Additional survivors include six grandchildren: Leigh Ann (Rob)Reeves of Lexington, Lisa Holland of Evansville, IN, Mary Lynn (Lorne)Smith of Nicholasville, Joy Osborne of Louisville, Mattie Osborne of Lexington and Clark (Elisabeth) Osborne of Evansville. Eight great-grandchildren also survive: Sarah Reeves, Elizabeth Smith, Daniel (Haylie) Reeves, Meredith Holland, Camille Holland, Erin Smith, Andrew Holland and Mattox Crutcher and a special daughter-in-law, Marilyn Osborne. Special recognition and appreciation is given to two special friends/neighbors: Herman & Shirley Hall of Cynthiana.

A private burial will be held Friday morning December 30th at the Sadieville Cemetery in Sadieville, KY. A visitation will be conducted Saturday January 21st at R.
