Alta Lee Goad Jones

January 1, 1934 - August 10, 2009

Alta Lee Phipps Goad Jones was born in Perry County, Kentucky on January 1, 1934 and passed away at her residence in Cordova, Kentucky in Grant County on August 10, 2009 at the age of 75. She was the daughter of the late John Oliver and Margaret Elizabeth Shipley Phipps.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husbands,Elmer James Goad on January 24, 1998 and Lindsay W. Jones on May 25, 2006. She is survived by her son, Eddie Goad of Douglas, GA; her five daughters: Brenda Hutchinson of Berry, KY, Carol Jarrell of Berry, KY, Wilma Troupe of Douglas, GA, Maggie Simpson of Nashville, GA and Penny Williams of Pearson, GA; her stepdaughter: Evelyn Adams of Corinth, KY; her five stepsons: Lindsey A. Jones, Larry W. Jones and Carl Jones all of Scott County, KY, Luther Jones of Ashland, KY and Earl Jones of Orlando, FL; her sister: Shirley Hafer of Lewisville, PA, her two brothers: Bobby Phipps of Cincinnati, OH an dCharles Phipps of Monticello, KY, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Jones retired as a cook for the BG Restaurant on Fifith Street in Cincinnati, Ohio and a member of the Nash Trinity United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 12 Noon, Thursday, August 13, 2009 at the Ellisotn - Stanley Funeral Home, 500 N. Main St., Williamstown, KY. visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 10:00 AM until Noon. Burial will follow in the Alexandria Cemetery in Alexandria, Kentucky. Memorials are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 704
