Bernard Jay Atha

August 24, 1925 - September 25, 2013

Bernard "Jay" Atha, a Williamstown resident, passed away at Grant Manor Healthcare on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at the age of 88. Mr. Atha was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Rex Atha, one son, Tony Joe Atha, and one daughter, Diana J. Atha.

Jay is survived by one sister, Pearl Purnell of Taylor Mill, two grandchildren, Carrie (Kevin) Kramer of Williamstown, Chris Atha of Lakeside Park, and two great granddaughters.

Jay was a WWII Army veteran, a KY Colonel, and a member of the Walton-Verona Masonic Lodge #719. He was a farmer, carpenter, and retired as a dock worker for Roadway Trucking in Cincinnati, OH after 20 years.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2-4pm at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden, KY. Masonic Service will be at 3:30, with the funeral to follow at 4pm. Burial with military honors will be at the Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
