William Allen Stewart

April 21, 1927 - September 27, 2016

Mr. William Allen Stewart of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Tuesday, September 27 at home at the age of 89.  Mr. Stewart was born April 21, 1927 in Ludlow, KY. to the late William Woodford Stewart and Anna Elizabeth Smith Stewart.  Mr. Stewart was the owner and president of Stewart Truck Lines, Inc., a member of Dry Ridge Baptist Church and former member of Sherman Baptist Church, Teamsters Local 100, former member of the American Legion, former member of the Dry Ridge Fire Department and former member of the Dry Ridge City Council.  Mr. Stewart served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

In addition to his parents Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his first wife: Irene Ballard Stewart in 1972, by sons: David Stanley Stewart in 1962 and Dennis Allen Stewart in 2002.

Mr. Stewart leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Barbara Ann Shelton Spillman Stewart, a daughter: Lisa Stewart of Florence, KY., a daughter-in-law: Merieda Keeton Stewart of Williamstown, KY., stepdaughters: Crystal Jones of Dry Ridge, KY., Donna Wagner of Florence, KY. a stepson: Bryan Spillman of Crittenden, KY., sisters: Doris Hall of Crittenden, KY., Mary (Clay) Crupper of Dry Ridge, KY., Linda (Dwight) Harvey of Crittenden, KY., 2 grandchildren: Merieda Denise Burton and Deonza Irene Keeton, 3 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. William Allen Stewart will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, October 1 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Mark Payton officiating.  Visitation will be Friday September 30 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Those serving as pallbearers are: Tony Hall, Tony Morgan, Ed Wagner, Travis Jones, Darrell Nelson and Calvin Crupper.
