James O. Whitaker

April 8, 1938 - July 1, 2016

James Orlin Whitaker, Sr., of Williamstown, KY. passed away Friday, July 1 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. at the age of 78.  J.O. as he was known to family and friends was born April 8, 1938 in Pulaski County, KY. to the late James Otis Whitaker and Roberta Ratliff Whitaker.  J. O. was a retired truck driver and worked for various companies including S & H Contractors.  J. O. remained a member of the Clark's Creek Baptist Church at the time of his passing and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

J. O. leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Luane Alexander Whitaker, 2 sons: James O. Whitaker, Jr. and his wife Connie Wilson Whitaker of Florence, KY., Kevin W. Whitaker and his wife Paula Whitaker of Independence, KY., a brother: Stanley Whitaker and his wife Bonnie Whitaker of Louisville, KY., a sister: Eugenia Hall of Fortson, GA., he has 2 grandchildren: James O. Whitaker, III, Samantha Darlene Whitaker, 2 step grandchildren: Amber Elkins and Joshua Belew.

Funeral services for Mr. James Orlin Whitaker, Sr. will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, July 7 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.  Visitation will be there on Wednesday, July 6 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.  Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
