Freda T. McClure

September 8, 1922 - March 9, 2016

Mrs. Freda T. McClure, of Mt. Zion, KY. passed away Wednesday, March 9 after a short stay at the Owenton Center Nursing Home in Owenton, KY. at the age of 93.  Mrs. McClure was born September 8, 1922 in Dry Ridge, KY. to the late Edward Lawrence and Sudie Roland Lawrence.  Mrs. McClure was a homemaker and a member of the Vine Run Baptist Church.  Mrs. McClure enjoyed baking and quilting.  She also was fond of reading of historical events, tending to her flowers, and adding to her collection of angels.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McClure was preceded in death by her husband, Eual Samuel McClure on September 28, 1984.

Mrs. McClure leaves to mourn her passing 2 sons: Eual F. "Colby" McClure of Dry Ridge, KY., Edwin T. "Tom" McClure of Dry Ridge, KY., 5 daughters: Beverly Johnson of Lexington, KY., Betty Varner of Dry Ridge, KY., Charlotte Grubbs of Dry Ridge, KY., Connie Cavins of Dry Ridge, KY., Tammy Fornash of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 sisters: Thelma Connelly of Crittenden, KY. and Brenda Faye of Taylor Mill, KY.  Mrs. McClure was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.  Mrs. McClure is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Candy.

There will be no visitation.  Graveside services and burial for Mrs. Freda T. McClure will be conducted 10:00 am Friday, March 11 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
