Mrs. Helen Messer of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Sunday, October 11 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. at the age of 91. Mrs. Messer was born May 4, 1924 in Newfound, KY. to the late Tolie and Esther Roberts Riley. Mrs. Messer was a homemaker and at the time of her passing a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and loved her flowers and tending to her garden. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Messer was preceded in death by her husband: Calept Messer in 1988. Mrs. Messer leaves to mourn her passing 2 sons: Veston (Carol) Messer of Walton, KY., Kenny (Carol) Messer of Monroe, North Carolina, 2 daughters: Wilma (Doug) Smith of Owenton, KY., Linda Skirvin of Zeland, MI. and Mrs. Messer was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Messer will be conducted 1:00 pm Thursday, October 15 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Bro. Danny Knarr officiating. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Dry Ridge. Memorial contributions if desired may be directed to the St. Elizabeth Hospice.
