Norman Dirille Doane

January 14, 1933 - April 13, 2014

Mr. Norman Dirille Doane of Crittenden, KY. passed away Sunday, April 13 at St. Elizabeth Edgewood at the age of 81. Mr. Doane was born January 14, 1933 in Cordova, KY. to the late Golie Milner Doane and Sadie Cathrine Teal Doane. Mr. Doane was the retired cirulation manager for the Kentucky Post and later the Kentucky Enquirer. Mr. Doane was a member and deacon of the Crittenden Baptist Church where he was active with the Royal Ambassadors. Mr. Doane enjoyed working with the youth taking them camping, hiking and being a mentor to them. Mr. Doane served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, Mr. Doane was preceded in death by a son: Norman Dirille Doane, Jr. in 1958. Mr. Doane leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 59 years, Frances Livingood Doane, 1 son: Anthony W. Doane and his wife Gail of Williamstown, KY., 1 daughter: Jennifer Perry and her husband Greg of Williamstown, KY., 1 brother: Marvin E. (the late Josephine) Doane of Springfield, OH., 1 sister: Charlene Garcia and her husband Rick of Springboro, OH. Mr. Doane was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Jamie Durham, Jill Schuler, Colton Perry, Jordan Doane and Samantha Perry, 4 great grandchildren: Conor, Chuck, Aschten and Soldier. Funeral services for Mr. Doane will be conducted 6:00 pm Friday, April 18 at the Crittenden Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the Crittenden Baptist Church on Friday, April 18 from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Burial will be in the Crittenden Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Crittenden Baptist Church Missions. Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home of Dry Ridge, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Doane.
