Mrs. Emma Joyce Lay of Owenton, KY. formerly of Grant Co. passed away Wed. Oct 16 at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital at the age of 75. Mrs. Lay was born November 18, 1937 in Scott County, KY. to the late Walter Halfhill and Gladys Wright Halfhill. Mrs. Lay was a homemaker and at the time of her passing she was a member of the Corinth Christian Church. Mrs. Lay enjoyed playing bingo, shopping and she enjoyed crocheting and knitting. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lay was preceded in death by brothers: Gary E. Halfhill, Walter Junior Halfhill, Woody Halfhill and Daryl Halfhill. Mrs. Lay leaves to mourn her passing her life partner: Aaron Dyer of Corinth, KY., 1 daughter: Janet Jones of Owenton, KY., 4 sons: David Lay of Corinth, KY., Jimmy Lay of Ocala, FL., Mark Lay of Corinth, KY. and Johnny Lay of Georgetown, KY., 1 brother: Wayne Halfhill of Corinth, KY., 3 sisters: Jean O'Hara of Corinth, KY., Carol O'Banion of Corinth, KY. and Diane Herrington of Cynthiana, KY., she was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Lay will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, October 19 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Rev. David Wotier officiating. Visitation will be there on Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
