Roland Motley, of Corinth, passed away Saturday morning, February 25 at his home at the age of 97. Mr. Motley was born September 29, 1914 in Jessamine County, KY. to the late Morris Motley and Penelope Owens Motley. Mr. Motley was a retired truck driver and for many years he and his wife, Okla B. Motley owned and operated the Freeway Restaurant in Corinth. Mr. Motley proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. Mr. Motley was a former member of the Corinth Lions Club and the American Legion. Mr. Motley is survived by his wife: Okla B. Hughes Motley. He has 1 daughter: Frankie Dalton of Corinth, KY. and 2 sons: Roland Motley, Jr. of Corinth, KY. and Anthony Motley of Corinth, KY. He has 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 11 great, great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Motley will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 29 in the chapel of the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth with Rev. Quintin McNabb officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Burial with military honors will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
