Michael B. Shipp

Michael B. Shipp, of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Wednesday, December 14 at the St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood at the age of 46. Mr. Shipp was born December 17, 1964 in Covington, KY. to Linda Blackburn Shipp and Dr. Darl B. Shipp. Mr. Shipp was a tool maker for Mubea Corporation in Florence, KY., a farmer and a member of the Dry Ridge Christian Church. Mr. Shipp was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, the National Rifle Association, the North American Hunting Club, the Florence Steelworkers Union, #1 where he formerly served as president and held several positions with the Executive Board. Mr. Shipp was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association, and the National Riding Horse Association. Mr. Shipp leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Melissa Bowen Shipp, his daughter: Morgan Brenlee Shipp, his parents: Dr. Darl B. and Linda Blackburn Shipp of Dry Ridge, KY., 2 brothers: Todd (Debby) Shipp of Dry Ridge, KY. and Jeff (Margie) Shipp of Edgewood, KY. Funeral services for Mr. Shipp will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, December 17 in the chapel of the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge with Rev. Wayne Barnett officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5-9 pm. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.
