Ada Mae Perkins

Ada Mae Perkins of Verona KY was born November 4, 1939, in Breathitt County, KY and died Monday, August 11, 2025, at her residence at the age of 85 years.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Emily Stamper Arrowood. She retired from Equitable Bag and was a homemaker. On March 5, 1976, she was united in marriage to her husband, Paul Lee Perkins who preceded her in death on October 17, 2022. Ada was a member of the Concord Baptist Church, she was proud that she received her GED in 1995, and she enjoyed playing bluegrass music in a band with family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ada was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Delmer, Charles, Johnny, Hargis, and Manual Arrowood and a sister, Maxine Combs.

Surviving are her 7 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren; 1 brother, George Arrowood; and 4 sisters, Kathleen Whitley, Dessie (Russell) Turner, Faye Baker, and Bonnie (Don) Strong.

Funeral services will be 12:00pm Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, followed by burial in the New Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Friday 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.
