Alda “Jinx” Fornash Marksberry, 96, of Williamstown, KY passed away on July 8, 2026 under hospice care at Village Care Center in Erlanger, KY.

Born September 18, 1929, she was the last of ten children of the late Greenberry Sharp Fornash and Grisella Jane North. She was preceded in death by all her siblings.

A nickname, bestowed by three of her brothers, stuck throughout her life and many knew her as Jinx.

She was a 1948 graduate of Mason High School. She worked most of her career as a clerk for the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service and called all her customers “my farmers”.

Jinx loved books and reading. Following her retirement in 1989, she volunteered at the Grant County Public Library.

She married Harry P. Marksberry on November 21, 1953. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2000. They have one daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Marksberry in Southport, NC.

Jinx had numerous nieces and nephews, and one beloved sister-in-law, Loraine Fornash, who survives her.

Jinx loved seeing any animal on the farm. If a day went by without one, she would say she “may as well live in town”.

Visitation will be 10:30am-12:30pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown.

Funeral Mass will be at 1:00pm Wednesday at the St. William Catholic Church, Williamstown with burial to follow in the Williamstown Cemetery.
