Alma Rosiland Chipman Elliott

Alma Rosiland Chipman Elliott, 90, of Grant County, KY, entered into her eternal home on Sunday June 28, 2026 at Grant Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born on March 2, 1936 in Holbrook, KY, she was the daughter of the late Tilden Bud and Rosella Washum Chipman.

On April 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to William Hanson Elliott; he preceded her in death on February 3, 2010. She served as a custodian at VF Factory Outlet in Carrollton. During her lifetime, Alma’s entire life was centered around her loving family. She loved working with flowers, Bluegrass music, Christmas shopping and also had a special attraction to “Retail Therapy”…..also known as Yard Sales. Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church held a very special place in Alma heart, as her great-grandfather was instrumental in building the original church.

Alma leaves a lasting legacy to her children: Sheree Elliott of Sanders, KY, Sheila (Howard) Reed of Aurora, IN, Sharon (Gary) Barger of Bluffton, IN; two brothers: Rev. Howard (Rachel) Chipman of Dry Ridge, KY and Richard (late Myrna) Chipman of Moncks Corner, SC. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Mike, Melissa, Joshua, Jason, Jeremy (Amanda); seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, all of whom lovingly called her “G.G.”, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers: Edward ‘Peck” (late Pearl) Chipman, Gene(late Norma) Chipman, Charles Chipman, Larry Chipman, Bobby Chipman and Tilden Chipman, Jr. and one grandson, Timothy Craig.

Visitation will be Friday July 3, 2026 at Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church from 12 noon till 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 with Rev. Howard Chipman officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Hanson, at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery on Golds Valley Road in Grant County.
