Anna Frances Colson Simpson

Anna Frances Colson Simpson of Williamstown, KY was born February 27, 1931, in the Keefer Community of Corinth, KY and died Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in Edgewood, KY at the age of 94 years.

She was the daughter of the late Jasper “Jack” Lee and Dora M. Blackburn Colson. She was a retired executive secretary with AT&T, the former mayor and council member of the City of Williamstown, and a member of the Fairview Christian Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #301, the Telephone Pioneers of America, and was active with the Williamstown Christian Church Youth Program. On December 10, 1948, she was united in marriage to her husband, Buford Franklin “Frank” Simpson, who proceeded her in death on March 22, 2016.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Simpson of Sevierville, TN; daughter, Teresa (Stephen) Wood of Williamstown, KY; three grandsons, Timothy (Megan) Wood, Anthony (Anne Margaret) Wood, and Chris (Candis) Simpson; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Wood, Samantha Wood, Grant Simpson, and Owen Simpson; brother, Harold Colson of Corinth; and sister, Martha Bachman of Williamstown.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, KY with burial to follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North. Visitation will also be Thursday 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
