Barbara Irene Woodyard Dunaway, of Corinth, was born Sept. 23, 1949 in Covington, Kentucky and passed away July 8, 2026 in Florence, Kentucky at the age of 76. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Estill and Hazel Bernie Jones Woodyard.
On June 6, 1969 Barbara was united to the love of her life, Tommy Dunaway. In addition to her husband of 57 years she is survived by her son, Jason Dunaway (Ashley Catton) of Lexington; a sister, Cynthia Kaye Woodyard Wright Rudd of Corinth; and two grandchildren: William Dunaway and Natalie Dunaway. Barbara leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire the next generations.
Barbara retired as a receptionist from the University of Kentucky Diagnostic Lab. She loved working in her greenhouse and took pride in nurturing all kinds of flowers. She will long be remembered for the enjoyment she got from singing and the fact that she never met a baby she didn't love. Her church membership was currently at 1st Church of God in Frankfort, but she was previously active in Canby Tabernacle and Stonewall Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Wade Dunaway and two brothers: William Bryan Woodyard and Kenneth Porter "KP" Woodyard.
Visitation will be Saturday July 11, 2026 from 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes - Williamstown. Funeral Services will begin at 4:00 with Rev. Thomas Denny Officiating. Burial will follow in the New Columbus Cemetery.
Because of allergies to roses and irises, anyone wishing to send flowers , may do so with the exception of those two flowers noted.
