Betty Jo Griffin Norman, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away on June 18, 2025, at Boone Spring Nursing Home in Union, Kentucky. Born on October 25, 1944, in Kenton County, Kentucky, Betty embraced life with a spirit filled with joy and love.

For over 20 years, Betty dedicated her career to the food service industry, where she worked meticulously at Dry Ridge Personal Care Home and Grant Manor Nursing Home, touching the lives of many with her compassion and culinary skills. Her family fondly recalls the warm and inviting home-cooked meals she prepared during the holidays, a testament to her nurturing nature.

Betty was known for her fun-loving personality, often spending precious moments with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. She had a vibrant zest for life, enjoying hobbies such as square dancing, clogging, and listening to all genres of music. She adored her cat, Binx, and humorously regarded Jon Bon Jovi as her boyfriend. Additionally, she held a special fondness for films starring Michael Landon, which brought her much joy.

Surviving Betty are her son, Frank (Rebecca) Hammons; her daughter, Nicole Hammons; her brother, Michael Griffin; her sisters, Christine Griffin, Jean Hornsby, and Mary Lou Mallicoat; as well as ten beloved grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Norman; her son, Bill Hammons; her daughter, Paula Jo Norman; her brother, Kenny Griffin; and her sisters, Kathleen Townsend and Ann Goins.

As we reflect on the life of Betty Jo Griffin Norman, let us celebrate a woman who brought laughter and love into the lives of everyone she met. Her legacy will continue to thrive within her family, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed.

Betty will be laid to rest with her husband Paul at the KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.  Times of services to be held at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown will be announced here on Friday, June 20, 2025.  Memorials are suggested to the KY Veteran's Cemetery North, cemetery wreath fund.
