Beulah Fortner Willoby of Williamstown, KY was born May 1, 1923, in Lawrenceville, KY and died Saturday, August 23, 2025, in Williamstown, KY at the age of 102 years.
She was the daughter of the late Alvie and Lurah Howard Fortner. She was salutatorian of her graduation class at Mason High School, she was a homemaker, although she also worked at several manufacturing facilities in her life, sewing baseballs at the ball factory in Williamstown, Mills Manufacturing in Williamstown, Levi Strauss in Hebron, as well as book keeper for the Grant County Ambulance Service, and was a member of the Mt Olivet Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking as well as traveling and vacationing with family.
On June 27, 1940, she was united in marriage to her husband Kenneth Willoby, who preceded her in death April 28, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Burrell H. Fortner, Alvie Dale Fortner, and Dorothy Perry.
Surviving is her son, Michael (Marylee) Willoby of Williamstown; daughter, Linda (the late Harold) Moore of Williamstown; 4 grandchildren, Rick (Kristie) Willoby, Dr. Michelle (Terry Peeples) Willoby, Jodi (Jody) O’Nan, and Lisa (Doug) Clifton; 4 great-grandchildren, Makayla True, Madyson True (Caleb) Mercer, Grant (Mallory) Mulligan, and Brayden Peeples; and 3 great great-grandchildren, Augusta and Nolan Mercer and Whitley Penick.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, 12:00pm-2:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt Olivet Christian Church or to the Friends of the Grant County Animal Shelter.
