Billy Elvin Smith

Billy Elvin Smith, 66, of Crittenden, KY, entered his eternal home on Wednesday May 21, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center - ER in Williamstown. Born on February 6, 1959, he was the son of the late Ralph and Debbie Marie Pingleton Smith.

After many years of service, Bill retired as a line attendant with Johnson Controls in Georgetown.  Sharing his testimony of how the Lord had worked in his life, expressing his love for the Lord and being active in the church are among the many ways he will be remembered.  On countless occasions when he came upon a homeless individual, he would oftentimes sit down beside him and ask, "What's your story?" After listening to their story, he would invariably ask, "Do you know the Lord?" Much joy and contentment came to Bill when he so freely offered a cold cup of water in Jesus' name. 

He was an avid U.K. fan; he was known to stand in line for hours, even pitching a tent overnight, just to get an autograph on any of his U.K. souvenirs from any or all the players. However, his love for family outweighed his love for any sports event. He was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a spouse: Rhonda Smith; daughter: Amanda Smith of Iowa; step daughter: Angela Henry of Monroe, OH; two sisters: Lillian Robinson of Crittenden, KY, Connie (Joseph) Spahn of Crittenden, KY; three brothers: Ronald (Linda) Smith of Nicholasville, KY, James Smith of McKee, KY and Farris Smith of Middleburg, KY, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Preceding him in death are three brothers: Harry Smith, George Smith, Wayne Smith and one sister: Katie Brown.

Visitation with be Thursday May 29, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Rev. Matt Holleran officiating.  Burial will follow in Georgetown Cemetery.
